My beloved husband Jon (Conscientious Catholic) died 3-10-19 of complications from a fairly routine surgery. He loved helping to spread the Roman Catholic faith. Thank you to all who followed his Blog or posted kind comments. It would be a great blessing if you would pray for his soul. Blessings.

OBEYING?

Card. Torquemada, 15th century theologian: "Were the Pope to command anything against Holy Scriptures, or the articles of Faith, or the truth of the Sacraments, or the commands of the natural of Divine Law, he ought not to be obeyed, but in such commands he is to be disregarded."

And, from Pope Innocent III(16th century): "...it is necessary to obey the Pope in all things as long as he, himself, does not go against the universal customs of the Church, but should he go against the universal customs of the Church, he need not be followed..."

Link in a chain

GOD has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. How can we answer to ourselves for the souls who have in our times lived and died in sin; the souls that have been lost and are now waiting for the judgment, seeing that for what we know we were ordained to influence or reverse their present destiny and have not done it?
